Hello students, welcome to Kwickprep. From the moment you wake up to the moment you sleep, information technology is helping you. Can you count how many times? Today we will see how I T is used at home, in everyday life, in libraries and at work. Then we will see it in education, entertainment, communication and business.

Let us start at home. Home computing means using a computer or phone for home tasks. Families pay electricity and mobile bills online, without standing in a queue. Students do homework and online research. People keep family photos and important documents safely in digital form. Smart devices, like smart T Vs and speakers, also run on information technology.

Information technology also makes everyday life easier. At a shop, you can pay with UPI by scanning a QR code. You can book train tickets online instead of waiting at the station. Maps on the phone show the way and the traffic. DigiLocker, a government app, keeps digital copies of documents like mark sheets.

Now let us walk into a library. A computer catalogue lets you search for a book by title or author in seconds. Barcodes on books and cards make issuing and returning quick. E-books and online journals let students read without a paper copy. Library software also keeps records of members and due dates, and reminds them to return books.

Next, the workplace, which means an office, a factory or a shop. Staff send emails and join video meetings from anywhere. Spreadsheets help them keep accounts and make reports. Biometric systems record attendance using a fingerprint or face. Teams also store files online and edit them together.

Information technology has changed education too. Smart classes show videos and animations to explain hard ideas. E-learning platforms, like the government's Diksha, let students learn anytime. Online tests are checked quickly and show results fast. School apps share attendance, homework and notices with parents.

Now for the fun part, entertainment. People watch movies and shows, and listen to music, through streaming apps. Streaming means playing online, without downloading the full file first. Video games run on phones, computers and consoles. Films use computers for special effects and animation. We can also book movie tickets online and choose our seats.

Communication is one of the biggest uses of information technology. Email sends a letter across the world in seconds. Messaging apps let families and classmates chat in groups. Video calls let us see and talk to someone far away. Social media helps people share news and school events, but we must use it safely.

Finally, business. Online shopping lets people buy from home and pay digitally. Billing software at the counter prints bills and adds tax correctly. Stock records track how many goods are left, so the shop can reorder in time. Online marketing helps even a small shop reach customers in other cities.

Let us follow one student's day. At seven in the morning, she joins an online class, which is education. At one, she pays at the canteen with UPI, which is everyday life. At five, she video calls her cousin, which is communication. At eight, she watches a show, which is entertainment.

Pause and predict with this example. A shop's computer shows that only three soaps are left. It warns the owner to order more. Which area of information technology is this? It is business, because it tracks the shop's stock.

Information technology is very helpful, but we must use it wisely. Never share your passwords or OTPs with anyone. Limit your screen time to protect your eyes and sleep. And always check facts before forwarding any message.
